Terms of Service

1. Agreement

These terms are between you and Severn Systems, LLC ("Lucian", "we"). By creating an account, subscribing, or installing the Lucian desktop app, you agree to them. If you do not agree, do not use Lucian.

2. What Lucian is

Lucian is a desktop assistant that carries out tasks on your computer based on what you ask it, using AI models. On BYOK plans the models come from a provider account you supply. On hosted plans we supply the models through our service and meter use in credits. Lucian is software that acts on your instructions; you remain responsible for what you ask it to do.

3. Plans, billing, and credits

Plans are billed monthly in advance through Stripe and renew automatically until cancelled. You can cancel at any time from the dashboard; access continues until the end of the paid period. BYOK Team is billed per seat.

Hosted plans include a monthly credit allowance. Credits are consumed by model usage, reset at the start of each billing period, do not roll over, and have no cash value. If a plan runs out of credits, hosted model requests pause until the next period or an upgrade.

We may change prices with at least 30 days' notice by email. Changes apply at your next renewal after the notice period.

4. Refunds

If Lucian is not working for you, email support@getlucian.ai within 14 days of your first payment and we will refund it. Renewals are not refundable except where the law requires.

5. Your account and devices

Keep your sign-in credentials private. You may pair the desktop app on the devices you personally use; BYOK Team seats are for one named person each. Do not share accounts, resell access, or use automated means to exceed your plan.

6. Acceptable use

Do not use Lucian to break the law, to access systems or data you are not allowed to access, to harm others, to send spam, or to circumvent the terms of the AI providers whose models are used. We may suspend accounts that do.

7. Your content

Your files, conversations, and outputs are yours. We claim no rights to them. On hosted plans you give us the limited permission needed to pass your requests to a model provider and return the answer.

8. The software

We grant you a personal, non-transferable licence to install and use the Lucian desktop app while your subscription is active. Do not reverse engineer, redistribute, or remove notices from it. The app updates itself; updates are covered by these terms.

9. Safety and responsibility

Lucian asks before risky actions and sends deletions to the Trash, but it acts on your instructions and AI output can be wrong. Review what it does, keep backups of anything important, and do not point it at systems where a mistake would be serious. To the fullest extent permitted by law, Lucian is provided "as is" and we are not liable for indirect or consequential loss. Our total liability to you is limited to the amount you paid us in the 12 months before the claim.

10. Ending the agreement

You can close your account at any time from the dashboard or by email. We may suspend or end accounts that breach these terms. On termination your right to use the app ends; sections 7, 9, and 11 survive.

11. General

These terms are governed by the laws of the state where Severn Systems, LLC is registered, United States. If any part is unenforceable, the rest stands. We may update these terms; material changes will be announced by email at least 14 days before they take effect.
