Privacy Policy

1. Who we are

Lucian is made by Severn Systems, LLC ("we", "us"). This policy covers the Lucian desktop app, the website at getlucian.ai, the account dashboard at dashboard.getlucian.ai, and the hosted service at api.getlucian.ai.

2. The short version

• The app does its work on your computer. Your files stay on your computer.
• On BYOK plans, your AI keys and your conversations never reach our servers.
• On hosted plans, model requests pass through our service to be answered. We keep usage counts for billing, not the text of your requests.
• We do not sell personal data.

3. What we collect

Account: your email, name, and sign-in identifier from our identity provider when you create an account. Payment details are collected and stored by Stripe, not by us; we receive the subscription status, plan, and the last four digits of the card.

Devices:when you pair the desktop app to your account we store a device name, a platform label (for example "macOS"), the pairing time, and a token that identifies that device. You can unpair a device from the dashboard at any time.

Hosted usage: on Pro, Max, and Ultra plans we record which model was used, how many credits a request cost, and when. We do not store the content of prompts or responses after the request completes.

BYOK plans:your API keys are stored only on your device. Requests go from your machine directly to the provider you chose, under that provider's terms. We never receive them.

Website: standard server logs (IP address, browser, pages visited) kept briefly for security and reliability. We do not run advertising trackers.

4. What stays on your computer

Your conversations, memory notes, automation rules, saved site logins, and any files Lucian touches live on your machine in the app's data folder. Deleting the app's data folder removes them. Nothing in that folder is uploaded to us.

5. How we use information

To run your account, bill your subscription, meter hosted usage, keep the service secure, respond to support requests, and send essential service notices (receipts, billing problems, security alerts). We do not use your data to train AI models.

6. Who we share with

Stripe (payments), our identity provider (sign-in), Cloudflare (website, downloads, and network security), Fly.io (hosting for the API), and the AI model providers that answer hosted-plan requests. Each only receives what it needs for its role. We do not sell or rent personal data.

7. Retention

Account and billing records are kept while your account is open and as long as tax and accounting rules require afterward. Hosted usage records are kept for 13 months. Device pairing records are removed when you unpair the device or close your account.

8. Your rights

You can see and update your account details in the dashboard, unpair devices, cancel your subscription, and ask us to export or delete your account data by emailing privacy@getlucian.ai. We answer within 30 days.

9. Security

The desktop app is code-signed, and on macOS it is notarized by Apple. The hosted API uses TLS everywhere, verifies sign-in tokens against our identity provider, and logs security-relevant events to an audit trail you can review in the dashboard.

10. Children

Lucian is not intended for anyone under 16, and we do not knowingly collect their data.

11. Changes

If we change this policy in a meaningful way we will post the new version here, update the date above, and email account holders.
