What is the difference between BYOK and hosted?+

BYOK means you connect your own account with an AI provider (OpenAI, Anthropic, Google, Groq, Ollama, and others). Your key stays on your computer, your requests go straight to that provider, and you pay them for usage at their rates. Hosted plans skip all of that: Lucian supplies the models and your usage is measured in credits that come with the plan.

What is a credit?+

One credit is one cent of model usage. A quick file task might cost a few credits; a long research job with helpers might cost a few hundred. Your dashboard shows a running total so there are no surprises. Credits reset each month and do not roll over.

What happens if I run out of credits?+

Hosted model requests pause until your next billing period. You can upgrade to a bigger plan at any time, and the app keeps working for everything that does not need a model.

Can I switch plans?+

Yes. Upgrade or downgrade from the billing page in your dashboard. Changes are prorated by Stripe.

How many computers can I use it on?+

Install it on the computers you personally use and pair each one from the dashboard. BYOK Team gives each person their own seat and their own devices.

Is there a refund?+

If Lucian is not working for you, email support within 14 days of your first payment and we will refund it.
